Cannabis Sugar

As promised, here's an easy recipe using the medical marijuana tincture I taught you to make last month.  Cannabis infused sugar!  I love this recipe because it is so easy to make and to use.  I package in small ziplocks from the bead store and keep these in my purse.  When I'm out and about and need to medicate, I can order up a coffee or tea and stir in a packet of my cannabis sugar.  You can also make and use in place of sugar to make any recipe a medible.  I  like to use as an extra layer of medication by sprinkling on top of my medicated sugar and/or peanut butter cookies.

What you will need:

Directions:

  1. Place 1 Cup of granulated sugar in a mixing bowl.  Add 1 Tablespoon of tincture.  Mix well to fully incorporate tincture into sugar.  Mixture will still be grainy.  This is fine.
  2. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet pan in a thin layer ****
  3. Place in a 200 degree F oven for 30 minutes.  This will evaporate the alcohol from your sugar.
  4. Remove from oven and allow to completely cool. Sugar will be clumped up on your baking sheet, this is normal
  5. Place clumped sugar in a sieve and press through with a metal spoon to re-granulate the sugar
  6. Place sugar in an airtight container for storage

Uses:
Use Cannabis sugar in any way you would use regular sugar.  I like to add it to my coffee, iced tea, hot tea, oatmeal, cereal, on a halved grapefruit,  in a fruit salad & anywhere else where I would use granulated sugar. Use in recipes to make medibles.  Keep a container at your desk at work or package in single serving sized bags for convenience.

****Optional:  To create pre-portioned sugar cubes, press sugar mixture into a teaspoon or sugar mold.  Place onto a baking sheet and follow above directions for baking.

I hope you will find this recipe an easy way to get your medical marijuana for home and on the go.

Stay Elevated!

  3. ok so when making this with glycerin tincture are the proportions of tincture the same?

  4. Hi Cheryl. Good question. I'm not sure of the answer as this is the recipe I use when making cannabis sugar. I used alcohol based tincture because the alcohol is easily evaporated from the sugar leaving the cannabinoids in the sugar.

If you try this with glycerin tincture please let me know how/if it works out for you.

  5. I have to say this was not one of my favorites. I tried it in coffee, made it taste very funky. I'm using the rest to bake, since I don't want to waste it.

    1. Sorry you didn't care for the cannabis sugar Sun. It will work just fine for baking. The thing with cooking with cannabis is the flavor it adds. I use this sugar in my coffee but it does add it's own flavor. I use a flavored creamer in my coffee too so that might mask it if you don't care for the flavor. Thanks for your feed back. :)

  6. Do you get the same results from the sugar as from smoking it?

    1. The sugar will give you an edibles effect. When smoking the body uses the delta 9 THC. When taken edible it processes through the liver and converts to a more potent and longer lasting effect. One thing with edibles is that they can take anywhere from 30 minutes to begin to feel the effect and up to 2 hours to reach the full effect.

    1. Yes. You can absolutely add more tincture to make stronger or even dissolve decarboxylated bho in grain alcohol then add to sugar and evaporate alcohol as above recipe calls for. Enjoy@ 😊

    3. Hello,

I as a cancer, stage 4 sarcoma, survivor. 2 years from chemo but still fighting----because of SUGAR....
How can I and those I represent take you seriously as the whole reason this plant IS medicinal IS because CANNABIS does NOT have ANY sugar IN it! So sorry for my emotional outburst, but I was just shocked to see a whole lot of energy being spent looking or thinking about something that promotes the very thing that promoted it to become legal in the first place after so very long... I wanted to add to your thoughtful post about something you may not have been aware of...
SUGAR FEEDS CANCER 10 times faster than anything else and it's already in everything else... Now the oncce real medicine is a sugar cancer treat...?

    4. I understand your passion and perspective. And as cancer feeds in sugar then cannabis sugar is not a good option gor those who are fighting and treating cancers. That said, there are a lot of other disorders and diseases that do benefit from cannabis where sugar intake is not a concern and this recipe is eritten with these folks in mind. For example, my condition is fibromyalgia which causes me yo suffer from chronic pain, myscle soasms and nervous system issues. I find that a spoonful of medicated sugar in my morning coffee and aftetnoon tea helps to alleviate my spasms and keep my pain levels down.

For patients I work with treating cancer I always suggest they look into pheoNix tears aka RSO or aFECO treatment regiment.

We have seen success including our dear friend Jack who cured his lymphoma using the RSO protocol and documented the entire treatment with his specialists. These same doctors sent him home to die with no hope. Boy were they suprised when he was still alive afyer 6 months and healthier than ever. They did a scan and could find no trace of the lymphoma that had previously riddled his body. Its been several years now and he continues on a maintenence dose of RSO.

Best wishes to you on your continued journey of healing.

  8. >>>remember folks, its not all black and white. We all have differnt dietary needs. Some are paleo, some are vegetarian, some are diabetic, some are gluten free and some cant consume artificial sweeteners. I try to share cannabis recipes that meet the different needs of different diets. However not every recipe will be right for you. If you want to be sugar free, choose a recipe that contains no sugar such as my granola recipe. If you dont eat meat, than my jerky recipe is not right for you. If you have nut allergies, dont make my peanut butyer cookie recipe. But please dont doubt that I am serious about cannabis as a medicine. And also please do not lecture or judge me because a single recipe is not specific to your dietary needs. Scroll through them all and find one that does fit yout dietary needs. Or email me qith a request with your specifica and I will do my best to create a recipe that suits you. <<<<

Bakers Tip: Another way to regranulate the sugar is to run it through a flour sifter. We do this when we make our Flower Sugars (they're floral-flavored sugars, nothing medicated) to return it to it's original texture.
